The trailer for “Judy” starring Renee Zellweger has dropped and it’s a stunner. Not only does she look like Judy Garland but the voice we hear singing “Over the Rainbow” is not Judy’s but Renee’s. We already knew that Ms. Zellweger could sing from her turn in “Chicago”, but this is something else. It is set in 1968 where an increasingly frail and emotionally beaten Judy Garland arrives in London for a five-week engagement. The accumulation of pills, bad marriages, professional heartbreak, and PTSD from her life as a child star converge as she nears the end of her life. Also starring at Finn Whitrock (“American Horror Story”), Rufus Sewell (“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”) and Michael Gambon (Dumbledore in “Harry Potter”). The movie is being released on September 27, 2019.
